The alloy is resistant to grain boundary precipitation in the weld heat-affected zone, making it suitable for use in the as-welded condition. Hastelloy C-276 can be fabricated by various methods, including hot and cold forming, and it is known for work hardening during these processes. The alloy retains its strength at elevated temperatures, suitable for applications up to 1900°F (1038°C).
