Hastelloy alloy C276/Inconel 276/Inconel 276/2.4819 Corrosion Resistance For Various Industrial Applications
Hastelloy C-276 is valued for its resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking. It maintains its corrosion-resistant properties in both oxidizing and reducing environments, making it suitable for use in chemical processing, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries.
Excellent resistance to a broad spectrum of corrosive agents, including chlorides, sulfur compounds, and oxidizing acids. The alloy is resistant to grain boundary precipitation in the weld heat-affected zone, making it suitable for use in the as-welded condition. Hastelloy C-276 can be fabricated by various methods, including hot and cold forming, and it is known for work hardening during these processes. The alloy retains its strength at elevated temperatures, suitable for applications up to 1900°F (1038°C).
In summary, Hastelloy C-276 alloy's combination of corrosion resistance, weldability, and formability makes it an ideal material for a wide range of applications where high performance in corrosive environments is essential

Exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking, even in highly oxidizing and reducing environments.
Resistant to a wide range of chemicals, including sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, and chlorides. Also shows good resistance to seawater and brine.
Excellent performance in high-temperature environments with aggressive media.
Stable at elevated temperatures, maintaining its strength and resistance to oxidation.
Can be used at temperatures up to approximately 1100°C (2012°F) for extended periods.
The alloy maintains good mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, including high tensile and yield strength.
Hastelloy C276 is weldable using conventional welding techniques, including TIG, MIG, and arc welding. It is highly resistant to the formation of grain boundary carbides and is often used in welded applications.
Good oxidation resistance at high temperatures, although not as high as some other nickel-based alloys like Inconel 625.
Applications:
Hastelloy C276 is available in various forms, including wire, sheet, plate, pipe, and tubing. The wire form is used in applications such as high-performance welding, thermocouples, and other specialized components requiring high corrosion resistance.
